As someone who grew up in west Michigan, I had the privilege of the always changing seasons. Since moving to Florida, I have had to be very conscious about doing things that are related to the seasons so that I don't feel like I am living the same day over and over again. I tend to have a hard time during the summer because it is far too hot to do anything outside at any point during the day. The fall is really where I start to find myself enjoying the seasons. The weather is consistently below one hundred degrees and, although this year it was due to a lack of hurricanes and overall rainy weather, the trees did turn a little bit brown and orange this year.

One of my absolute favorite things to do during the fall is dinner at Jock Lindeys at Disney Springs. That isn't to say that Jock's isn't an absolutely brilliant dinner spot at any point throughout the year, but Halloween is something absolutely special. Set in the 1940s, this plane hangar themed bar is "owned" by Jock Lindsey, the pilot from Indiana jones. If you take the time to look around, you can see some cool easter eggs that relate directly to the movies! The decorations around the restaurant are vintage looking and gorgeous. There's garland strung along the walls and carved pumpkins hanging from the ceiling. The menu items are even themed to the movies as well. This is my second year having Halloween dinner at Jock's and the menu was a little bit different than last year, but fun nonetheless!

I am not someone that has any spice tolerance, so I will not be ordering these myself, I absolutely love to see the alien sliders making their way through the restaurant! They're Nashville hot chicken sliders with olive eyeballs and a pickle tongue. While I'm someone who can only appreciate the silliness of them, my partner really enjoyed the taste and vowed to come back every year for them. I was pretty bummed to see that the 'dead quesadillas', palm sized quesadillas with a skull burnt into the top of them, were not coming back this year. With this years menu being very spicy, I opted for the classic tomato-bacon jam sliders off the year round menu.

While the menu this time around may not have been for someone like me, I am glad that the menu is ever changing so the Halloween season doesn't become boring and repetitive. There isn't much time left to get to Jock's while the Halloween layover is in effect. Won't have a chance to get there before October is done? Don't worry, the Christmas spirit will be here soon enough
